i don't know exactly how i got to be where i am today, all i know is that it's by the grace of God, that i have a chunky thighed toddler running around my house yelling at his pup pups to c'mon c'mon, a husband that works incredibly hard, and a sweet little one flipping in circles using my bladder as a kickboard. really, i think i knew this is where i wanted to be, but never imagined the struggle, the frustration, and pure exhaustion that comes with being a mom. i also never knew how much i could love a tiny stranger, the joy he brings to my days is quite impressive for someone who can destroy a room faster than i can start a load of laundry.

we're still here. :)
Hey all! So it's been a long while since my last post and so much has happened! Baby Jonah turned 4 months old, and now he's almost 5 months (thursday). We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's, but the most exciting thing is that Jacob started a new job! We only thought we were busy before!
So much has happened I don't even know where to start, but here is a short rundown of the last couple months in our neck of the woods. I'll start with Jonah:
he started eating cereal and veggies and fruits. he loves carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and peas, apples, bananas, plums and prunes, and hates peaches and green beans so far...
he can ALMOST roll over from his back to his belly, he tries hardest during diaper changes and can almost get there.
he was spoiled rotten at christmas, not only with lots of new books and toys, but with hugs and kisses and cuddles and lovin' from my family, and there is no other way we'd have it!
we went to the dr. this week for his 4 mo. check up and he's up to 16lbs and 25in. long...
and full of smiles and giggles for EVERYONE he sees, he brings such joy to my heart. i swear i don't think the sweet baby has met a stranger, he must get that from his pops. :)
ok, here are some pictures of baby jonah!
i really want there to be pictures of baby jonah, but my computer is being ridiculously slow and i don't have the patience for it right now. but. but. check Facebook soon and there will be new pictures. eventually. i pinky promise.
As for the rest of us, we are doing well too, we were so blessed this year to have my family come and spend some quality time with us.
At the beginning of December Jacob accepted a new job as the youth minister in Pineville, MO, we love it there so far and couldn't have picked a better place, this was really such an answer to prayer! We get to work with a great group of kids, and we are so excited for what God is going to do this year!
I feel like there is more going on, but it's getting late and I didn't have near enough caffeine today to think about what else there is.

3 months
well first of all...i lost the card reader, so there are no new pictures...yet.
UPDATE!!!!!!!! HERE ARE THE PICTURES!!!!!!
Jonah has been growing like crazy lately, he is getting so much bigger and is really alert and taking in everything around him, it's so sweet. This week he has started sitting up on his own for just a couple minutes at a time; and every time we put him on his belly he rolls to his back, and a tries to get back over, but hasn't figured that part out yet.
We are all looking forward to Thanksgiving this year, my family is coming to Joplin to spend the day with us and we just can't wait to see everyone!
And our social life is slowly coming back, Jonah (and Molly) and I have at least one playdate a week, usually with Hilary and Ali and Blake, and usually at Chickfila...we love that place. And Jonah and I go to MOPS every other week, I'm so grateful for Hilary and her invitation to join MOPS, I have already made some new friends and lovelovelove having other moms to connect with and know I'm not the only one not sleeping through the night (other than Jonah:)) We also have a bajillion other things we get to do each week as a family and I feel like we are always on the go, but I'm loving every single minute of it!
Jacob is getting me a new card reader so, hopefully I can add some pictures later tonight, or maybe tomorrow between loads of laundry, since I have the day off! (yay!...thanks Amy!)

pioneer day!
This weekend Jonah and I made a short trip to Cleveland (Oklahoma) to visit my family! We had so much fun, Jonah got to love on his Grammy and Pops and aunt and uncles and his great grandparents, he is such a loved little boy.
While we were in town it was Pioneer Day, a fall festival of sorts with booths and stuff for the kiddos, fair like food, and a parade. When I was little my parents would dress all us kids up in our western wear load us up in the covered wagon and let us strut our stuff in the kiddie parade...our favorite part of the day!
In fact, here is an old photo for your viewing pleasure...
We didn't stay for the parade this year, we left early with my mom and brother to head to tulsa and cheer my sister on in her regional cross country meet. She ran two miles in a little over 15 min...that;s way faster than I could do it, and Jonah was pretty proud of her!
We came back Saturday night and spent Sunday hanging out with Jacob, and we all had fun! Here are some pictures from today.
Then we caught a little giggle from our sweet boy and wanted to share it! (press the play button to watch it! :))

punkin patch {2 months}
First of all, we survived 3 1/2 days without daddy, it wasn't easy, but we made it...we really like having him around!
Oh, and we got Jonah a johnny jump up this weekend )we're calling it a Jonah jump up) and he really liked it for a while. He doesn't jump so much as he turns in circles to get away from the puppies.
After he got home we visited Arkansas to see Mel & Mac & MJ & Josh and the pumpkin patch! We had so much fun hanging out with them for the day, we packed a picnic lunch, went on a hayride and took lots of pictures! Jonah had fun too, he hung out in the carrier for a while and the stroller and cuddled with mommy and daddy. He was pretty good all day, until we pulled out the camera, every time we tried to take a picture he would pitch a fit, so disregard his attitude in the pictures and believe what I say, not what you see!
This is really the first tradition that my family had growing up that we have shared with Jonah, it's been so fun, and I can't wait to do more things with him. I'm so grateful to my mom and dad for doing all sorts of things with us and the examples they are as parents, I'm so excited to pass all of those traditions on to baby Jonah, I just love being his mommy!

8 weeks
I should probably stop labeling my posts by week since I'm not very good at doing this weekly.
Anywho...baby Jonah is growing like crazy! I can't believe he is almost 2 months old.
Not a whole lot has been going on around here, but we did take Jonah to a chiropractor this week and she adjusted his back and neck and hips and we have a totally new baby! He is so much less fussy and is very alert and so happy most of the time, it's wonderful! He also hasn't been spitting up as much since visiting Dr. Burpo...we like her a very lot.
Coming up this week Jacob is going to Dallas for a work training, he'll be gone Mon-Thurs. I think he's excited to go, but I know he's going to miss us a lot, we're going to miss him a lot too. But when he comes back we are going to go to the pumpkin patch with Mel and Mac and MJ and Josh and it's going to be marvelous...I love having things to look forward to.
Ok, I think that's enough rambling for now, in the meantime here are some recent pictures of our favorite little guy!

ohlanta {5 weeks}
So much has happened in the last week and a half...for one it's getting harder to blog on a weekly basis, but I WILL do it...or at least try really really hard to!
We got to spend 3 days visiting family in Oklahoma and we are so blessed by all of the lovin that went on. I think everyone had fun!
We got another smile on camera...he smiled more for his Pops than anyone else
Jonah also got to meet his Great Grandpa and Great Great Uncle Tommy, but mommy and daddy forgot the camera...darn.
Jonah also sported his "my aunt is the best" shirt and got some pictures with his Auntie Mimi.
While we were there Jonah got to see his (second) cousins Cohen, Keagen and Wyatt (we got to stay for his birthday party!)
I think that my favorite pictures for ever and always are going to be the ones of Jonah with his Grammy and Pops, they are so sweet! He is such a lucky little guy, love you both!
We didn't take nearly as many pictures as we should have, but I guess the only way to fix that is to visit again soon!
i think jonah agrees!
