we're still here. :)

Hey all! So it's been a long while since my last post and so much has happened! Baby Jonah turned 4 months old, and now he's almost 5 months (thursday). We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's, but the most exciting thing is that Jacob started a new job! We only thought we were busy before!

So much has happened I don't even know where to start, but here is a short rundown of the last couple months in our neck of the woods. I'll start with Jonah:

he started eating cereal and veggies and fruits. he loves carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and peas, apples, bananas, plums and prunes, and hates peaches and green beans so far...

he can ALMOST roll over from his back to his belly, he tries hardest during diaper changes and can almost get there.

he was spoiled rotten at christmas, not only with lots of new books and toys, but with hugs and kisses and cuddles and lovin' from my family, and there is no other way we'd have it!

we went to the dr. this week for his 4 mo. check up and he's up to 16lbs and 25in. long...

and full of smiles and giggles for EVERYONE he sees, he brings such joy to my heart. i swear i don't think the sweet baby has met a stranger, he must get that from his pops. :)

ok, here are some pictures of baby jonah!

i really want there to be pictures of baby jonah, but my computer is being ridiculously slow and i don't have the patience for it right now. but. but. check Facebook soon and there will be new pictures. eventually. i pinky promise.

As for the rest of us, we are doing well too, we were so blessed this year to have my family come and spend some quality time with us.

At the beginning of December Jacob accepted a new job as the youth minister in Pineville, MO, we love it there so far and couldn't have picked a better place, this was really such an answer to prayer! We get to work with a great group of kids, and we are so excited for what God is going to do this year!

I feel like there is more going on, but it's getting late and I didn't have near enough caffeine today to think about what else there is.

baby face

Today I was thinking about all of the modern technologies we have and how convenient and fun most of them are, like ultrasounds.

At the beginning of my pregnancy we had a few ultrasounds to see how he was growing and check regular stuff, but we haven't had any since the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. We also had an elective ultrasound around 18 weeks when my family came up here and got to go with us when we found out he has boy parts. :)

I ramble because today I realized that after the 6 or so ultrasounds we had, we haven't got to see the little man's face! I think we have one profile picture that turned out really blurry since he was being a wiggle worm. But really, we have no idea what he looks like, not even a guess. I think most people (or at least ones I have talked to lately) get a sweet little 3d shot of their wee one's face to guess at who's nose he has or maybe even a sweet little smile, but I guess we did get a shot of his tiny tush. :) Not until I came upon this realization did I start to get incredibly anxious to meet him!  I mean, that, and the fact that seems like time is slipping through my fingers (24 more days if you're curious).

We are slowly getting things together and ready for him to make his appearance, very slowly. We finally picked out a carseat and are going to get it on Thursday after my 36 week appt. I have most of my hospital bag packed except things like our toothbrushes and phone charger. I talked to my mom today and they are going to bring the bassinet that they used for me and all my siblings up here when baby comes...and my dad is fixing it up for us and painting it and everything...I'm so excited!

Oh and I cannot forget to mention that we are going to do maternity pictures this weekend with Melodie (if you haven't checked her out yet...do it now!) I just have to decide what to wear, which may be a challenge since I'm outgrowing most of my clothes.

I feel like I ramble, but you like it...right?

Oh and if you have any awesome suggestions for a playlist at the hospital...tell me them now. please. thank you.

I'm really not this bossy normally...promise.

fun fun fun for everyone

speechin' it up

Last weekend we got the privilege of attending my littler brother, Tanner, (not to be confused with my little brother, Levi, or my littlest brother, Maverick) graduate from high school. He was the Valedictorian of his class and he did a great job on his speech! Even if the sound system was terrible and it sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher during most of the ceremony and that we didn't take the right lens for our camera, I'm so glad we could be there for all of it!

mmmm...candy shop pizza

I also got to hang out with my mom and help out with project graduation on Friday night, they had inflatable games and bingo and soooo much food (which was all fantastic) and another CHS alum doing caricatures for the seniors.

Tanner & Landon should still be the size of Maverick and Jalen, I'm sure of it.

It was so fun to get to spend the weekend with my family and see some old friends too.  Here are a whole lotta pics from the weekend.

29 weeks 3 days

This weekend we also got started on Jonah's room, yay!

OK, so all I did was hang things in the closet and put a playmat on the floor, but progress is progress.

Look at that baby grow!
